We have a couple big sweet gum tress in our front yard, and this time of year, they turn the prettiest shades of orange and red. It's really quite nice, because when the sun streams through the leaves, the light glows all orange-red in our already peach colored bedroom. And it is a very good thing that it's pretty, because raking aside (of which there is plenty!), these trees will in the next month or so, drop terrible gum balls in our yard, on the sidewalks, in the parking lot, etc. And they are AWFUL! So I'm blogging with a couple pictures of the gorgeous leaves from today, in hopes that when I twist my ankle countless times as these balls mature and drop endlessly in the coming months, I will look back and see how beautiful these trees were.
